Moose

Chosen answer: "Perfect Day" was originally on Lou Reed's album "Transformer" released in 1972.

Question: A follow-up from a previous question: OK, Best Costume is an Oscar category. However, would the "Costume Designer" for Shrek 2 be eligible to win - given that they didn't design any real costumes, just parts of the animated 3D models?

Moose

Chosen answer: Probably not. As stated in the rules (see below), there must be a costume designer who is recognized as such by other costume designers. The Shrek artists are not likely to be considered costume designers. From the official Oscar rules at www.oscar.org: "To be eligible for the Costume Design Award, the costumes for the picture must have been conceived by a costume designer. It is the intention of this rule to recognize the designing of costumes for their special use in motion pictures. Eligibility shall be determined by the costume designer members of the Art Directors Branch present at a meeting called specifically for that purpose prior to the mailing of nominations ballots."

Chosen answer: Its a game called three-penny-scat. I'm not 100% on the rules, but I think you get three cards, take the value of them (Royalty =10) and whoever gets closest to thirty wins. According to the book, it's one of the most boring games invented but "it was too hot to think about anything more complicated".

SexyIrishLeprechaun

Answer: The goal is to get two point cards and an ace, all of the same suit to make 31.That's when you can call "Scat" and win the hand. The player with the lowest value loses the hand.

Question: How is David able to make Michael see the maggots and worms in the Chinese food, considering Michael hasn't yet drunk his blood at this point?

Gavin Jackson

Chosen answer: Many legends give the vampire certain rather hypnotic abilities - this is presumably along the same lines.

Tailkinker

Answer: I always assumed it was because the joint they passed was dusted.

Question: Near the end of the film, when Sarah dies, where did all the blood come from? Did she hit her head when she fell after the demon was driven out? If so, why did it take so long to start gushing?

wizard_of_gore

Chosen answer: Yes. It may have taken so long because the blood was probably pooling at the back of her head, which caused her to pass out, then finally built up enough pressure to gush out of the cut or fracture at the back of her head.

Season 4 generally

Question: Cordelia was controlled by Jasmine, Cordelia controlled the Beast who brought the rain of fire and blotted out the sun, they also brought Angelus back and released him. All of this probably caused many deaths and made terror overtake the city. But Jasmine was nice and kind and tried to make the world happier. So what was the point of Jasmine's plan to bring the Beast and Angelus? It makes no sense.

Answer: The beast was used to obtain artifacts and rituals needed to bring Jasmine Into the world. Jasmine didn't want or need Angelus - he was just a bonus killing machine to keep Angel's gang busy. Angel's gang summoned Angelus because he knew about the beast.

Question: The theme in the trailer is also in the Double Team trailer and various other trailer. What's the name of the theme?

Answer: The trailers for Face/Off and Double Team don't seem to have any music in common - they must just sound rather similar. The most likely candidate for the theme you're referring to is "POW" by the Music Junkies, which has been used in trailers for four different films, including Face/Off.

Question: What is Michael Myers' curse, and why does it involve him killing his relatives?

Answer: The other answer is based on a novel and not on the film itself. According to this film (and the alternative Producer's Cut), the curse of Thorn is an ancient druid curse that must be fulfilled - a chosen one is picked from every "tribe", and made into an almost superhuman figure. This chosen one will then be forever compelled to sacrifice and kill-off his or her own family on the night of Samhain (aka, Halloween night) every year until the curse is either stopped or passed onto another.

TedStixon

Answer: I read the movie tie in book after the first Halloween came out. As I remember it, a boy with a crippled leg was in love with his own sister. During the Samhain (harvest end/halloween) festival, he killed his sister and her soon to be husband with a knife. The tribe tore him apart, and the chieftain cursed his soul to forever repeat his crime forever, etc. The book or following books in the series described Michael Myers' grandfather or great-grandfather losing his mind at a dance and killing a dancing couple. Every other generation or so the soul takes over a decendant, leaving enough people alive to continue the curse.

Question: After seeing the directors cut (I haven't seen the theatrical) we know that Evans mother has two still births, could this be Evans brothers who have lived similar lives to Evan, made the same choices, come to the same conclusions, travelled back to the womb and killed themselves?

Answer: Yes, it is in fact two brothers of Evan's. They travelled back and killed themselves the same way Evan did. This is explained in the Director's Cut DVD commentary by the writers.

Question: What is the name of the theme in the teaser trailer and the full trailer of Fellowship of the Ring?

Answer: If it's the one I think you mean, it's called "Gothic Power" by Christopher Field. I found it quite easily online.

Tailkinker

Question: While Ricky Tan is talking to Lee on the boat Hu Li comes in. She says something in Chinese and shoots him. What is the translation of what she said?

Answer: She calls him a "Traitor" in chinese.

Rollin Garcia Jr

Question: How did the ancient predator see the mark on Lex's face when predators can only see in infrared?

Answer: It is possible with their infrared vision which shows body heat that the burn from the blood was in fact hotter, which allowed it to be seen more visibly to the commander.

He didn't have a mask on at the time.

Predators can see infa red without masks. The masks give them other vision.

Question: While in John Doe's apartment Mills looks at something and says Victor's name. What was he looking at?

Answer: It's actually Somerset who says it - he's looking at Victor's severed hand.

Tailkinker

Question: What is the name of the song playing in the background when Paige invites Eddie to her house for Thanksgiving?

Answer: When you watch the DVD with the subtitles, it says that the song playing is "Everybody Wants You", written and performed by Josh Kelley.

Question: In the easter eggs it says that you can find out what is in the un-opened FedEx package. I don't have the DVD, but what's in the package?

Answer: According to imdb.com, "Robert Zemeckis was asked at a Q&A session at USC what was in the unopened packaged. He replied that it was a waterproof, solar-powered, satellite phone."

T Poston

Of course this is just a joke and one that had to be made, but not taken seriously. Had it been a satellite phone and he opened it, there would not be much of a movie plot left.

Question: OK I'm gonna be dumb and ask, what on earth is Franck's nationality and accent?

Answer: Martin short once claimed in an interview that Franck is just a combination of several different nationalities that he combined for the character. Like Bronson Pinchot in Beverly Hills Cop, part of the humour is not knowing where he came from.

Gavin Jackson

Question: Theoden says 'where was Gondor when the West Wall fell?' What is the West Wall and where is it?

Question: What is Sam's line at the end of the movie just before Frodo asks "what are we holding onto?" It was something about "How can the world go back to the way it was . . ." or something. Please list THE ENTIRE LINE. Thanks.

Answer: I know. It's all wrong. By rights we shouldn't even be here. But we are. It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened. But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn't. Because they were holding on to something.

Question: In Spider-Man 2, Scott Spiegel makes an appearance as a man trying to steal a piece of pizza. Does anyone know what role he has in this movie?

Answer: He's the policeman that tells Peter 'we've got the place surrounded' when Uncle Ben's murderer falls to his death.

Question: What is the melody that Frau Blucher plays to calm down the monster?

Answer: It's called "Transylvanian Lullaby" (as they tell you in the film) and was composed for the movie.
