Breakdown (1997)

Trivia: When Jeff tries to get Red to pull over on the road, he almost misses an RV and has to swerve at the last minute. In front of where he swerves is a big rock looking thing, right frame. It is there to hide the camera filming the lower angle shot we see in this sequence.

Revealing mistake: When Clouseau is floating out of his apartment in his costume, in several shots you can see the shadows of the chimney behind him in the sky, indicating this was shot in a studio.

Continuity mistake: Clouseau and the doorman are stuck in the sauna, and Clouseau draws on the window to see out as it is streamed up. The level of steam on the window changes during this sequence.

Revealing mistake: The scene with one of the girls in the Pi house undressing on the TV was filmed with a handheld camera. Lewis tells Lamar to pan the scene right which it does. Cut to the scene of the woman undressing and the scene is shaking, like someone is holding the camera. These should be stationary shots. We even see the camera that is filming the shot and it's strapped down with a periscope.

Fall (2022)

Other mistake: In an early shot that takes place at night, a woman in a restaurant points out that the radio tower has a blinking light. Later on during the night shots we see the strobe close up. The problem is, there is no electrical equipment on or nearby the base of the tower, nor are there electrical wires visible for the lighting. How is this tower still receiving power? Tower lighting is extensive, and there would at least be some form of equipment for it present at the bottom of the tower. Not to mention, tower lighting has to be maintained by FAA regulations, and it's difficult to believe a 2,000 foot tower would be in such bad shape. Considering the strobe at the top is incandescent, it would burn out often and the tower would need to be climbed.

Quantum Leap (1989)

Piano Man - November 10, 1985 - S3-E15

Revealing mistake: When Sam is driving the truck through the fog/smoke, Al tells Gooshie to center him on Lorraine but Al doesn't jump out. The shot cuts to a front view of the fog. The road noticeably jumps forward because there is a dissolve transition in this shot, even thought its the same angle. It's likely it was done to lengthen the shot.

Continuity mistake: Mini-me spits on Austin during their fight on the moon. We never see him clean it off, but it's missing from his face seconds later.

The X-Files (1993)

Musings of a Cigarette-Smoking Man - S4-E7

Revealing mistake: As the smoking man sits on a bench after finding out his story was rewritten, there are mountains visible in the background. Atop one of the buildings in the background is a Canadian flag waving in the wind. This show was shot in Vancouver, but is set in Washington D.C. There are no tall mountains that close to D.C.

Question: How did they pay for the booze and the snacks at the second hotel? Del doesn't have a lot of money and Neil spends most of his on the room.

manthabeat

Answer: It all came from the minibar in the room, which in those days (and, often, even today) didn't require payment in advance; it would be added to your bill when you check out. Since the hotel didn't have Neil's credit card or anything else to take payment, they could have just skipped out the next morning without paying for the snacks and drinks. (Another possibility, though remote, is that the snacks and drinks were complimentary...I have stayed in one or two hotels like that in the past, rare as they may have been).

Answer: Another possibility is that off-screen while travelling on the road (before the fire), drinks were bought at a store somewhere for the purpose of an overnight stay somewhere.

Breaking Bad (2008)

Pilot - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: Emilio and Krazy 8 show up to the cook site to visit Walter. Krazy 8 leaves the drivers side door open when he exits the vehicle. Later when Walt is trying to flee the area in the RV, he drives past their car. The door is closed.

Fall (2022)

Trivia: For the film, a real radio tower was built, albeit significantly shorter. The film was shot on a tall mountain, to give the illusion that the tower was much taller. A blue screen was placed below it. The two main female characters did their own stunts.

Visible crew/equipment: During several shots of driving at the beginning of the film, the shadows of the camera and equipment can be seen on the hood and Candy's clothes. Its clear enough to see the camera, a boom mic, and a c-stand.

Audio problem: At the start of the homecoming carnival, there are guys playing trumpets. They drop them as if they're done playing and the sound continues a bit longer than it should.

Sudden Death (1995)

Continuity mistake: When Van Damme disarms the first bomb, he only cuts two wires. There are three wires visible (its black, and is visible to the left of the yellowish wire). In the next scene, the last wire he didn't cut is gone.

Plot hole: Two helicopters approach the arena and one gets shot down. A huge explosion in the middle of a large city would be seen by thousands of people and police would respond, but law enforcement do not come and investigate.

Sudden Death (1995)

Stupidity: The secret service officer near the elevator gets shot right in the middle of his head by the Penguin mascot, and she drags his dead body into the elevator. Suddenly he's able to moan and groan and she shoots him again. The guy was very shot in the head, as in graphically. How is he suddenly alive enough to moan?

Suggested correction: A bullet to the head is not guaranteed to kill someone. Movies and video games have taught us that being shot in the head is instant death, but that just isn't the case.

BaconIsMyBFF

Pretty sure you wouldn't wake up in seconds after a bullet to the head.

manthabeat

Correct. You probably would just lay there stunned while moaning and groaning... exactly like the scene depicts.

He didn't "wake up", he moaned. Which is 100% possible and actually happens quite frequently.

BaconIsMyBFF

Visible crew/equipment: Right before Thornhill gets shot by Eve, he's talking to Vandamm at the table. The camera moves backward. You can see its shadow on Thornhill's arm.
