Continuity mistake: Kate at the beginning of the movie asks Demerius, the kid who is reading a manga, to read some of it loudly for the whole class. When she addresses him first, the book on his desk changes position between shots, repeatedly. (00:01:20)
Factual error: Since the movie was set in the 60s, David Senak couldn't have gotten in trouble for shooting the man running away. In the 60s, the police could legally shoot any criminal running away. This didn't change until Tennessee v. Garner in 1985.
Continuity mistake: While racing through a parking complex to get to his daughter at the hospital, Lin ramps out of the exit and hits the font of his car on the ground leaving some damage, and even a part of the bumper hanging off. However in subsequent shots, the vehicle is undamaged. (00:02:50)

Continuity mistake: Edmund and his business partner pull over in front of the hotel. They walk out of the car, and the woman is holding a clipboard in her left hand and her smartphone in her right. When they get through the hotel doors though, she is thumbing her phone in her left hand and the clipboard is now encased in a whole document folder she did not leave the car with, in her right hand. Continuity mistake: Izzy gets out of the car of her one night stand and lights up a cigarette. She begins to type on her phone, phone in the left, cig in the right. Visible crew/equipment: When Renton is singing at the pub, he approaches Simon playing the piano to let him sing a line. In the shot before he places the microphone under Simon's mouth, Renton is shown moving the microphone away from his mouth, and a camera can be seen attached to the microphone, to film the shots from the perspective of the microphone. Factual error: In the beginning of the movie, during Dickens' visit to America, you can hear them playing the melody from the song "I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandy" written by George M. Cohan in 1904. This was 61 years after the events in the movie. In the ending credits they cite this as "Yankee Doodle Dandy" which was written many years before. But, that was not the melody that was being played.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the movie, Bob Fredericks pulls his bicycle over. His wife takes off leaving him behind. A young man walks by him twice in the two separate shots and at different distance. (00:01:00)
Continuity mistake: Michele Riondino has just killed the snitch and is going after the witness, a Chinese woman. He holds her at gunpoint; she does not move, but in a shot she has hair in front of just her left shoulder, both shoulders in the next. (00:30:30)
