Continuity mistake: Edmund and his business partner pull over in front of the hotel. They walk out of the car, and the woman is holding a clipboard in her left hand and her smartphone in her right. When they get through the hotel doors though, she is thumbing her phone in her left hand and the clipboard is now encased in a whole document folder she did not leave the car with, in her right hand. Factual error: The man cutting through the door is pictured holding a torch, but that type of torch is not a cutting torch. You also see a showering of sparks as though a grinder is being used. (00:42:00 - 00:43:00)
Continuity mistake: While Jim is narrating his story, he gets to the point when his son was hit by a drunk driver. The line slows down, but when it cuts to a close-up of Renée Zellweger saying "Sorry Jim", you see the trays shift. Only, they are back in the exact same spot as before when the close-up is over. Continuity mistake: When Bob finds Scott and Kate at his office with the money and runs at them, he slams into a frame at the end of the hall breaking the glass. It cuts to a different angle and suddenly he's slamming into it again but the single sound effect is still playing. (01:14:41)
Continuity mistake: Addison put his sweater on (over his neck and arms into the sleeves). After his dad asked him if he was OK, the view of Addison in the mirror showed him putting his sweater on again. (00:16:04)
Continuity mistake: The protagonist is driving his diminutive car to the villa. In the view from the villa (Avishai Cohen's name pops up) you can see a large shadow covering the area of the gate. In the reverse shot that part of the road is fully lit. (00:06:00)
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the movie, Bob Fredericks pulls his bicycle over. His wife takes off leaving him behind. A young man walks by him twice in the two separate shots and at different distance. (00:01:00)
Plot hole: There's no way that plane could have crashed and stayed intact like it did.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the movie, Cass is blackmailing Mira about the true nature of her little trip. She calls Liam up; during the scene, she is holding the hanger in a different way between shots (left hand on the hook, or under it). (00:04:00)
Continuity mistake: Gardner Lodge first takes a bite from the corner of the peanut butter and jelly sandwich and sets it back on the plate. The camera angle changes and when he is seen holding the sandwich again the bite is now taken from the middle of the sandwich. (01:28:55)
Character mistake: In the highlighted newspaper article entitled 'DeFeo Son Accused' about the killings, the first sentence of the article ends with two periods. Also, in the 3rd sentence, the word 'psychiatric' is spelled "psuchiatric" with a 'u' instead of a 'y'. (00:01:05)
Visible crew/equipment: When the police woman falls off the boat when the shark hits it, on the right side of the screen, you can see a hand outstretched, as if reaching out to grab her. It doesn't belong to the only other person on the boat, since he's behind the wheel and completely out of reach. So, it belonged to a person who wasn't supposed to be there.
Factual error: A group of people are traveling in a pickup truck escaping earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. They come across a mist that they identify as sulphur dioxide, mainly by its smell and effects on people. Then the plastic interior of the car starts to melt, and they attribute it to the sulphur dioxide. Sulphur dioxide can attack plastics and rubber, but only in its liquid form. It turns gaseous at -10° C. After that it is a gas. So the melting of plastic is not correct at ambient temperature.
Continuity mistake: Michael sets foot into the church and meets Pastor John Soul. John has a clipboard in his left hand, as well as his glasses, as he says "But the doors of this church are always open to you." He opens his arms and the glasses are in the left hand. However in the wider shot that follows ("But, if you are looking for redemption...") here's the Pastor with the glasses in his right hand. (00:27:05)
Continuity mistake: Lynn Jackson collects things from the desk and looks at George Pierce, who tells her "I'll talk to him", clutching his smartphone to his chest. Next shot and his arm is down his side. (00:18:10)
Continuity mistake: When the boy wakes up in the middle of the night after first hearing the dinosaur, his alarm clock reads 2:0x (its not clear but the digit segments on show imply it's either 2:05 or 2:06). The next time we see the clock it's 2:02, then two scenes later when the dinosaur decides to and then does jumps off the table the clock now reads 2:22.
Continuity mistake: Roland crumbles up Jake's drawing and stuffs it in his jacket, but when he takes it out again, it's neatly folded.
Continuity mistake: After Danielle stabbed Junior, his papers were by his feet. When Junior's mom found him, the papers were by his hands. The knife was also closer to his feet compared to when Danielle dropped it onto the floor. (00:03:39 - 00:04:30)
Character mistake: Set in Texas, the Sheriff threatens the wrongdoer with the gas chamber. Executions in Texas at that time were all by electrocution, namely by "Old Sparky," the electric chair. Texas has never used the gas chamber for executions.
Continuity mistake: When Toni Servillo meets Verónica Echegui in the sauna, she says something in Spanish to him, and then shrugs in a close-up. The jacket and towel cover her shoulders and neck area entirely, but in the wider shot that follows, the towel is gone and the jacket is looser. (00:11:10)
Suggested correction: He doesn't crumple it up, he folds it. Though he does stuff it roughly into his jacket.
