Question: Even though it's not technically indicated in the film, I always wondered if the young blonde lady watching the spaceship shown for a few seconds in 1986 just before David returned to 1978 was Jennifer (the 12-year-old girl David had a crush on in 1978). She looks roughly 20 years old now herself and I thought that could be her just to show what she looks like now (maybe there was a deleted scene with her in it). Was this a correct assumption?

Flight of the Navigator (1986)
Answer: The only people with different young and old actors were Jeff and Carolyn. The scene with young Carolyn would have been after he got back from the future and was filmed, but cut for pacing reasons.

Super Mario Kart
Question: This question applies to all Mario Kart games except Mario Kart 8 and leaving out that they're part of the Mario universe. What is the purpose of collecting gold coins? They can't be used to buy anything and even if a player doesn't have any and falls into a pit, Lakitu will still help the player out.
Answer: Absolutely nothing.
Answer: Across all games, collecting at least 10 coins gives a slight speed boost. In some games, collecting coins unlocks things.

The Patriot (2000)
Question: Benjamin and Gabriel both agree that moving Charlotte and the children to the Gullah encampment would be a safe place to hide. How is living out in the open by the ocean a safe place to hide?
Answer: It's the idea of hiding in plain sight, somewhere your enemy is unlikely to look. Tavington and Cornwallis are both upper class Brits and would not likely think of a village of slaves/ex-slaves as somewhere a gentleman would go. Nor would they likely know of any connection they would have there.

Rocky IV (1985)
Question: How is it that Apollo is killed after just two rounds with Drago, but Rocky is able to survive fifteen whole rounds against him?
Answer: Rocky is well-known to have a very strong ability to take punches, which is how he is able to keep his hands in punching position rather than a defensive position. In addition to heavily training for this fight, he also hurts Drago, which reduces his ability to fight.
Answer: There would be multiple factors involved, not just how many rounds were fought. Drago may just have hit Apollo in an unexpected fatal way. Apollo could have had some unknown physical weakness or condition making him more susceptible to the constant, hard blows. Also, it wasn't expected that Drago was so vicious, sociopathic, and unconcerned whether an opponent was seriously hurt or killed, nor did he hold back on the force of the punches. Rocky, knowing what Drago was capable of, was able to strategize and fend off Drago. Apollo was unaware and unprepared. Rocky was also motivated by revenge and fury.
Answer: Apollo was much older and had retired as a boxer, despite his training (he was in good shape) he also had no fights in a long time, as a result his ability to shrug off blows were inferior to Rocky's Also if you focus well on the fight, he spends way too much time yelling for Rocky to NOT stop the fight, not only wasting lots of energy, neglecting to position himself well, focus or even block To me it seemed like Apollo wanted to die, his "Apollo Pride" simply wouldn't let him quit. I once had and wrote a "Creepypasta theory" in where the reader is believed that Apollo instead had been shouting "Help me Rocky! Throw the towel! Help me!" but Rocky was so sure his buddy would win that he heard what he wanted to hear (my theory was widely supported by the fact that the chance that Rocky would have heard anything at all during all the screaming and shouting is but impossible, also the fact that Rocky feels guilt and has signs of PTSD would support this).

13 Ghosts (1960)
Question: Is the lawyer who brought the will to the apartment in the beginning the same guy who died in the cube when they were capturing the 12th spirit?
Answer: No. The lawyer was played by actor JR Bourne. The victim in the box was played by actor Charles Andre.
There is confusion about this movie, made in 1960, and the later 2001 version, "Thirteen Ghosts." In the 1960 version, Martin Milner played Benjamin Rush, the lawyer who was killed by the bed. JR Bourne was in the 2001 film. He played lawyer Ben Moss, who was killed by the sliding glass panels. Charles Andrew played a team member who was also killed.

Barbershop 2: Back in Business (2004)
Question: Why didn't Calvin give Kenard a chance to cut someone's hair?
Answer: Calvin did give him a chance to cut hair. That is why Kenard had the chair in the first place. It was the people of the neighborhood who didn't want him to cut their hair, as he is new, and they have no clue if he will be good or not (just as he proved with Alderman Brown). This is the same as Isaac in the first movie. Once he proved himself by giving Jimmy a good haircut, people began choosing him.

Question: Why shut down their game system for only two days out of the week? Why not let it be on for only the weekends as they fix the world?
Answer: Why not shut off TV or the internet so we can can concentrate on real world problems in our own universe? The game system is pretty much the only source of entertainment and joy for most of the world's population, and the kids don't want to take it away.
Answer: Not to mention that kids use the OASIS to go to school.

Adventures in Babysitting (1987)
Question: When the kids were coming out of the hospital, Pruitt was there and said that Dawson was going to charge them $50 for the tire, which he knew they didn't have. Earlier in the movie when he saw them on the expressway, he said he would treat them to a tire as a nice gesture. He paid for the window because that was his fault, but why did he suddenly decide not to buy their tire for them when he knew they were flat broke?
Answer: He's on the lam after shooting at his wife's lover. He probably needs whatever cash he has on hand.
Answer: He didn't decide not to buy them the tire. He said Dawson wouldn't let him buy it for them.

The Breakfast Club (1985)
Question: I am curious about one scene. After Bender gets his "stash" back from Brian, Andrew looks at Claire and shakes his head. Claire walks off and Andrew and Brian have some kind of whisper exchange and Brian then walks off. My interpretation of this scene is Andrew has just dumped Claire and Brian can't understand why he"s done it. If not, could someone explain this scene to me?
Answer: It's rather simple. Andrew is trying to tell Claire and Brian not to go smoke pot with Bender, in addition to trying to hold back from his own desire to try it.
Answer: Andrew and Claire were never a couple. They knew each other casually in the school hallway. They were upset that Bender would use Brian to hold his "stash." They thought Brian was too smart to do something that stupid. They were also upset at Bender for bring his stash to school and involving someone else in his scheme. They were starting to become friends at this point and disappointed at both of them.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
Question: Why was Merry's hand burned when he stabbed the back of the witch king's leg?
That's caused by his breath and I don't think he breathes from his leg.
How was Merry even able to stab the witch king's leg anyway? It's been said that no man can kill the witch king.
Going back to the books for more explanation: First: it wasn't a protection. It was a prophecy/prediction by Glorfindel a millennium earlier. Second: the weapon Merry had in the books was a barrow-blade recovered by Tom Bombadil while saving the Hobbits from the barrow wights and had been enchanted directly against the Witch King. Since the scene (and Tom) were not in the film, they went with a more specific interpretation. The Witch King was not killed by a man, but by a Hobbit and a woman.
Answer: Because of what the Witch King is made of, his blood (or whatever) burns the skin of a mortal. Maybe even being too close will cause burns.

Star Trek: First Contact (1996)
Question: Why didn't they just tell Cochrane about the Borg? Why didn't Cochrane want to be famous?
Answer: Telling him about the Borg would violate the Prime Directive by giving too much information about the future. The Borg were not supposed to be in that timeline, unlike the Vulcans who, historically, made First Contact with humans at that time. Cochrane does not say why he doesn't want to be famous. There are many reasons people shun celebrity-some are shy and prefer privacy, others don't want to deal with the pressure of having to live up to a reputation that may be inaccurate, it interferes with the work they are trying to achieve, and so on.
Actually, they did tell him about the Borg. You can tell they told him about the Borg because he said a group of cybernetic creatures from the future have traveled back through time to enslave the human race.
They told him a general story about what's going on. They don't reveal their name, where they are from or their nature.
What harm could telling Cochrane about the Borg possibly do?
That could potentially change the timeline too much. They want to preserve the timeline they came from.
I'd care more about saving humans from being killed, or enslaved, than about preserving timelines.
It might set humanity on the wrong path, that will lead to more deaths. For example, it could prevent the federation alliance. One can only imagine how the Alpha quadrant will survive Romulan, Klingon and Dominion attacks without the alliance.
"Telling him about the Borg would violate the prime directive by giving information about the future." Which is more important, obeying the prime directive, or stopping the Borg from enslaving the human race?
They are first attempting to give as little information as possible to anyone in the past in an attempt to follow the Temporal Prime Directive. Any small change could have larger changes in the future via the butterfly effect.
Answer: When Riker and Cochrane are doing the pre-flight check in the ship, Riker is talking about the historical significance of this launch. Cochrance tells him to shut up, he is tired of everyone he meets telling him what a hero he is, and what this launch means to mankind. He says, "You want why I want I'm doing this. Money and women. I want to buy an island and be served drinks by native girls. I hate space travel. I take trains." However, once the Vulcans land, he truly realises what he's done.
Answer: Cochrane wanted to be famous but in order to get money and women. Cochrane didn't want the hero title and was sick of hearing about all the good he had done.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (1993)
Question: Why does Mickey want to stay behind with Yoshi, at the end, when Raph has had the connection with him throughout the film?
Answer: Michelangelo wants to stay behind for the same reasons as Raphael: because in that time and place, they are well respected, even revered as heroes. They can live openly and not be banished to sewers or subway stations.
Mikey didn't want to stay behind because of Yoshi but because of Mitsu. Raphael even points out that she's the reason he doesn't want to return. When Mikey says they should stay, Raph responds, "Now, forget about Mitsu and give me the scepter."

Answer: I can't directly answer this, but I was watching this movie just now, and didn't take in the girl at the beginning's (Jennifer's) name, so when Sarah Jessica Parker, Carolyn, appeared I then spent the rest of the movie assuming that she was going to turn out to be the girl he was crushing on in 1978, especially when Carolyn even told him he was cute (which is kind of a weird thing for a 20-year old to say to a 12-year-old if there isn't a plot reason for it). I do wonder if that was in fact the originally intended idea that was changed for whatever reason before the movie was completed, and if perhaps he was meant to go back to 1978 with the knowledge that she found him cute and therefore a new-found confidence to ask 12 year-old her out.
