Plot hole: Laurie calls the police from 1987 Winchester drive, and gives them that address. Yet the police responding to the call go directly to 1960 Winchester drive - where Laurie has run to and is now hiding - even though it's on the other side of the street and several houses down. 8.8/10. A well done different take on the original. It's not a remake more like a different version of the story like fairy tales which have different versions. Rob Zombie shows his talent in understanding the source material. Malcolm MacDowell plays an excellent take on Dr. Loomis, a bit greedy but still caring some. Scout Taylor Compton plays a feisty, funny but still strong Laurie Strode. This is a pretty decent movie, like a grind house movie.
Suggested correction: Initially Laurie sends Lindsay across the street, back to the Doyle house to call the police. It's possible Lindsay gave the police the Doyle's address (since that's where she was calling from). Since that call was likely made before Laurie made her call, that explains why the police first show up to the Doyle's house (responding to Lindsay's call) and Bracket shows up minutes later at the Wallace's house (responding to Laurie's call).
Lynda: You know what that dried up fucking bitch did?
Laurie Strode: What?
Lynda: Calls my dad and tells him what I said. Yeah, that C-U-N-T needs to get laid.
Laurie Strode: What did your dad say?
Lynda: Oh, who cares? I'll just give him the little sweetie pants princess suck up routine: "Daddy's little pookie would never say something like that!"
Trivia: Danielle Harris, who plays Annie Brackett in the movie also played Jamie Lloyd in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers & Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers.
Question: Why does Laurie drop off mail (that her father gave her) to the Myers house, which is abandoned? Why bring mail to an abandoned house?
Answer: Laurie's father, Mason Strode, is a realtor who owns Strode Real Estate, and there's a realty sign post in the front yard of the old Myers house. Mason tells Laurie, "They're coming by to look at it later," so we know he's talking about people interested in buying the old property. When Michael sniffs the envelope we see the Strode Real Estate logo, and it presumably contains realtor's paperwork which is pertinent to the sale of the house, and is meant for the people who will be coming by later.
