Continuity mistake: When Anakin, Obi-Wan and Palpatine are falling down the elevator shaft and use the hook grip to swing themselves in the elevator door, the land on the light on the floor from the ceiling. When it cuts to them getting up they have moved two feet away from the light. (00:16:45)
Continuity mistake: When Anakin, Obi-wan and Palpatine are running through the hall and get stuck in the ray shields, Anakin is facing forward. When it cuts he is suddenly facing Palpatine. (00:17:10)
Continuity mistake: When Grievous faces Anakin while saying "I expected someone with your reputation to be a little older", you see Anakin has his head turned to his right. Then he slowly moves his head to his left. When it cuts he moves his head to the left again. (00:18:15)
Continuity mistake: When Obi-Wan and Anakin are fighting Grievous' droids we see two droids dragging Palpatine through an opening door. A couple of shots later we still see the droids dragging Palpatine through the door which is still opening in the same position as earlier. (00:18:55)
Continuity mistake: When Obi-Wan and Anakin are fighting Griveous' droids, Palpatine is being dragged against the door. When Griveous says "Stay at your stations" it cuts and we can briefly see Palpatine standing still in the left corner. (00:18:55)
Continuity mistake: When Anakin and Obi-Wan has Grievous surrounded, as Anakin approaches Grievous from behind, the remains of a droid can be seen behind Grievous on the floor. When it cuts to Grievous saying "You loose General Kenobi", the remains behind him is partially gone. (00:19:45)
Continuity mistake: When Grievous throws his staff on the window making it crack, the pattern on the cracks change between the shots. (00:19:50)
Continuity mistake: When Grievous escapes with the escape pod, three pods launch before his. When his goes off there are no signs of the other three anywhere ahead of him. They didn't didn't have enough time to change direction flying off screen. (00:20:30)
Continuity mistake: When Anakin, Obi-Wan and Palpatine are about to crash land we get a view inside the cockpit of the aircraft with the pilot saying "We'll take you in". If you look out the window we can see he is flying on the spaceship's right side while spurting water on it. When it cuts we can see that none of the aircrafts are spurting water on the right side of spaceship until a few seconds later. (00:22:00)
Continuity mistake: In the scene following the crash landing of Grievous's flagship where the shuttle is approaching the Senate's "parking garage" (not the Senate building itself or the Jedi Temple as others have said), the shuttle is approaching a section of the landing platform that is void of any other ships. However, in the following shot, another shuttle with different coloring and larger size is in plain view. (00:23:45)
Continuity mistake: In the shot where Anakin as talking with Senator Organa, C3-PO is walking behind Organa. When it cuts to behind them and we see Padme, C3-PO is now a few feet ahead of Organa. (00:24:35)
Continuity mistake: When Anakin is choking Obi-Wan, Obi-Wan's lightsaber is held in different angles between shots. (00:24:40)
Continuity mistake: When Anakin is talking to Bail Organa after rescuing the chancellor, the distance between them and the column that Padmé is standing by is inconsistent between shots. (00:24:40)
Continuity mistake: During the conversation between Anakin and Bail Organa (before Anakin is reunited with Padmé), C-3PO and R2-D2 keep changing position between shots. (00:24:40)
Continuity mistake: When Padmé is waiting for Anakin by the giant column, her position by the column differs between shots, seen from its design. This also happens to both her and Anakin as they're talking. (00:24:40)
Continuity mistake: When Padmé is waiting for Anakin by the column, and also when she's talking to him, the floor around the column keeps changing between shots. For example, when Anakin runs to her, the red area around the column is much bigger than in the previous shots. (00:24:45)

Continuity mistake: When Padmé is brushing her hair on the balcony, her position changes between the second and the third shot, seen, for example, from the pattern on the floor. Her hairbrush and her arms change position between the first three shots too. (00:28:15)
Chosen answer: Powerful force users seem to have some degree of control over their bodies even after death. In the later series, Luke's wife Mara Jade Skywalker only allows her body to disappear when her killer, and nephew Jacen Solo arrives at her funeral as a clue. Thus it appears that a powerful force user can simply choose if they wish their body to disappear.
