Dr. No

Revealing mistake: In the scene where Bond is crawling through the pipes and then descending carefully to a lower level, a strange sound is heard and he begins to slip. As soon as the shot changes before this sound, we can see that it is a stuntman and not Sean Connery. (01:36:00)

Other mistake: At the end of the film when Bond and Honey are rescued in the small boat, Felix walks to greet them. What is strange though, is that there is no mention about where Quarrel is, even though Quarrel and Felix were good friends. (01:43:50)

Audio problem: When Bond goes in to see M, you can see Bond speaking just after he sits down. His lips move quite a lot, but there is no sound. (00:10:45)

Factual error: When Bond and Honey are machine-gunned from the boat it is a Bren gun, but the magazine appears to be the wrong way round and faces backwards.

Plot hole: When the receptionist is showing Bond and Honey their rooms she opens the closet with clothes for Honey and says they just got their sizes the night before. How? Dr. No's people didn't know about Honey at all until she showed up with Bond, and they weren't even seen together until they were found in the swamp just several minutes before. (01:19:50)

Audio problem: When the radio controller in London says "Hello, W6N. Report my signals", his lips don't move. (00:05:10)

Continuity mistake: When Bond gets into the car at the airport he is sitting behind the driver (left side of rear seat). In the next shot, he is sitting behind the front passenger seat (right side). In a later shot he is again sitting behind the driver (left side again). (00:18:25)

Continuity mistake: When Bond and Honey get out of the water after Bond killed the soldier and after they clean themselves in clear water, Honey's shirt is dry, when it was completely wet before. (01:09:15)

Continuity mistake: One of Bond's traps in his room is his briefcase; he puts talcum powder on it. When he is done he sets the case down on the right side of the table. To the left is a mirror and by the mirror is an assortment of perfume bottles and a shaving bag. When he returns, the contents on the table are reversed exactly, and the perfume bottles are replaced by a magazine. (00:24:25 - 00:40:20)

Revealing mistake: When Bond and Honey are made to take showers to clean them of any remaining radioactivity, they are meant to be naked. When Honey gets out of the shower a man holds a towel up for her, but if you look closely you can see that she is wearing a flesh-colored swim suit. (01:16:45)

Continuity mistake: During the car scene, the black car rams into Bond. Then the camera cuts and the black car is about 5 feet behind Bond without any time to have slowed down. (00:48:45)

Revealing mistake: When Honey is telling Bond how much money the shells are worth there is someone bobbing up and down just under Honey, possibly a film crew member holding an unseen microphone.

Revealing mistake: Every time a shot of the hallway outside of Bond and Honey's room in Dr. No's lair is shown there are several doors on the same side of the hallway that lead too nowhere. Notice when Bond enters the room looking for Honey near the end we don't see the reverse of the doors from the inside of his room.

Continuity mistake: When we see a close up of Sylvia's £100 tokens, they are mis-aligned and not neat. When the shot changes to the dealer picking them up they are stacked neatly. (00:07:30)

Continuity mistake: When we first see the skyline of London we can see that Big Ben is showing 3 o'clock we also hear Ben's chimes. When we see the casino for the first time the clock is showing 2:50. (00:06:40)

Trivia: Sean Connery started going bald when he was 21. In 'Dr. No' (he was 32 then) and any subsequent movies in which he has hair, he was actually wearing a hairpiece.

Suggested correction: Contrary to popular belief, Sir Sean Connery was not wearing a hairpiece in his first two outings as James Bond. Although he was already balding by the time Dr. No was in production, he still had a decent amount of hair and the filmmakers used varying techniques to make the most of what was left. By the time of Goldfinger (1964), Connery's hair was too thin and so various toupees were used for his last Bond outings.

Question: When James Bond goes to see Professor Dent at his office, it's morning. After he leaves, Dent goes out to Dr. No's island and picks up the caged tarantula. The next time we see Bond, he's returning to his hotel, and it's night, probably late, as he goes to sleep soon after. Where did Bond go between seeing Dent in the morning and returning to his hotel that night?

Answer: It's obvious what he does between those times. In "Goldfinger," Felix Leiter sees him just moseying off between an event and the climax of the movie and says to his pal "Ten'll get you one it's a drink or a dame." No doubt Bond's using his time...productively.
