Daphne decides she doesn't want any part in the royal social cutthroat life her father lives when she sees him dancing with her future step sister (she had waited her whole life for a father daughter dance) and goes back to America with her mom. Her dad decides that she is more important to him than politics and says so during a press conference. He withdraws from the election and goes to find his daughter and his true love, her mother and he brings Daphne's boyfriend with him. He tries to recite a speech to his daughter but she cuts him off and says "I love you dad" and gives him a big hug.He remarries Daphne's mom and they all live happily ever after without all the royal fuss.
