Continuity mistake: When Griffin gets out of bed, when he hears the clown song he pushes the bed sheets forward about 3 feet from the pillow but when his dad goes into Griffin's room, the sheets have been pulled up about half that length.
Character mistake: The girl scores a goal in the soccer game but it does not actually go into the goal, so everyone is celebrating a miss. (00:02:00)
Factual error: Dev Patel is standing in front of Trinity College's statue of Issac Newton. Directly behind the statue is a marble wall with names carved into it. This wall is a list of the members of the college who died in World War II. It would not have existed in 1914.
Visible crew/equipment: When Matthew is following Nina's cries for help through the woods you can see numerous set lights in between the trees (in the distance). (01:09:43)
Continuity mistake: As Sean Penn arrives in the bar at the beginning of the movie, Annie is engaged in conversation with another man, saying "We have to meet the new Minister of Health." You can spot her in the group shot and she has her elbow on the table and leaning her head against the hand. In the close-up her position is completely different. (00:03:00)
Continuity mistake: When Billy and his daughter are at Moreen's grave the sun changes between shots.
Factual error: A 1955 Chevrolet is parked in front of Lily Tomlin's 1955 Dodge. Its license plate reads "528 GPR." California license plates did not begin to use combinations of three numbers followed by three letters until 1969. The "528 GPR" plate would have been issued circa 1975 and originally had yellow letters on a blue background. For the movie, the blue background was repainted black so the colors were appropriate for 1955. However, an actual 1955 plate would have three letters followed by three numbers.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the movie, the first thug is trying to convince Brennan to handle the gun. He repeatedly uses the trigger to show him that the gun is harmless; in the next shot the weapon mid-sentence is already turned around the other way, held out for Brennan. (00:01:15)
Continuity mistake: In the first phases of the conversation about the sleeping accommodations (hotels full, Yacht Marina etc.), Tilda Swinton's hand motions are inconsistent in the shot/reverse shot succession. For instance, she's playing with her drink using the straw, held in her right hand that turns into her left hand at the cut. (00:10:45)
Other mistake: In the break-in lab scene where the characters attempt to film their second resurrection, Zoe has her right hand on the electrical circuit breaker. After she throws the breaker and is electrocuted, Frank after unsuccessfully trying to revive her removes her wedding band, which shows clear burn marks on her ring finger of her left hand. Factual error: At the beginning of the movie, the Battle of Scheveveningen (1653) is depicted. However some of the British ships sport a gaff-rigged mizzen spanker, which was not introduced until late in the next century.
Revealing mistake: When Rachel has a red turban on and is supposed to be bald, you can see her hair under the turban.
Continuity mistake: In the scene with the fireworks, the Deputy driving the vehicle has his outside mirror knocked off by a firework. You then see the same and only Deputy in the car, in the mirror getting out of the passenger side of the vehicle to confront the misfits. The change isn't due to the reflected image. (00:13:05)
Continuity mistake: In the opening scene, the two friends discuss about the pool and various fluids including the pleasant effects of the waterjets on their ladyparts. During these amenities, the sleeve of the bathing robe on the bench switches position back and forth between two positions (showing the stripe or not). (00:03:00)
Factual error: Summer and Carmen are at the saloon and catch on the local news the report of the kidnapping. The scene is set in Tuscany, Italy, but the news anchor is Spanish actress Paz Vega, speaking with an obvious accent and mispronouncing words. To make the whole situation even more absurd, she is supposed to portray a native Italian speaker, "Giulia Carni": the last name is Italian sounding but nonexistent in reality, and the headline used for the news report, "Nonna-napper", "kidnapper of grandmother" has such an awkward and unnatural sound and feel in Italian and for an Italian audience, that nobody ever would use it. Continuity mistake: The first time we see Roland on his own at the bar, he's talking with the bartender, Michel. When he asks Roland in French where his wife is, Niels Arestrup's arm changes position instantaneously in an edit mid-sentence, and does the same a couple more times after. (00:11:30)
Other mistake: The day before the business trip, Vince Vaughn enters his son's room. They have an awkward chat about masturbation and when he leaves, his son checks out of the bad things that bullies with even worse photoshop skills post on Facebook. He is looking at two different posts, but two comments are exactly the same in both, complete with the same peculiar spelling mistake. (00:08:30)
Continuity mistake: The blood on the good guy's white shirt continuously changes through the last chase. (01:22:00 - 01:26:00)
Continuity mistake: The resident bully approaches Mara once her rather embarrassing mum left. Mara turns around and tries to power her way out of the predicament; in the background, the girl with the bright red dress has her arm across her waist, but at the cut she has both arms behind her back. Continuity mistake: Maggie's clumsiness burnt the tasty dish, but the gourmet detective hands her and her unlikely date a spare portion. During the sequence that follows, her fork switches hand and is lowered or raised without continuity between cuts. (00:06:25)
