The Descendants (2011) ending / spoiler
Matt decides not to sell the land that his family owns. Brian's wife Julie comes and apologizes to Matt about the affair. Matt, Alex, and Scottie scatter Elizabeth's ashes in the ocean. The film ends with the three of them watching TV together, seeming content.
