Twelve Monkeys (1995) ending / spoiler
Jeffrey(Brad Pitt),his co-mates,and the army of the Twelve Monkeys were not responsible for releashing the virus.They were only responsible for releashing animals from the zoo.James Cole(Bruce Willis) and Kathryn Railly(Madeleine Stowe)decided to go to the next destination where the virus secondly gets releashed,Rome.Then James goes metally crazy at the airport the scarred Jose(Jon Seda) appears and gives him a gun to shoot the one responsible for the virus.Dr.Peters(David Morse) was the real perpetrator for the virus.He got the idea when Kathryn and Dr.Goines(Christopher Plummer) were talking about the virus.Kathryn sees a magazine of Dr.Goines with Dr.Peters and sees him headed towards the to Rome.And this is the climax where James' memory/dream collides with reality.The man in the Hawaiian shirt is Cole,the young boy is the younger Cole,the redheaded woman is Kathryn,and the long haired brief case man is Dr.Peters.As James triesto shoot Dr.Peters James instead is shot by the security guards.As Kathryn scurries towards the gunned down James the younger James experiences this.Dr.Peters makes it to the airplane,but the female scientist from the future is his seatmateand we are led to believe she will retrieve the virus and bring it back to the future because shewas a backup plan.As the film ends with the camerafocuses on the young James as he watches the planeflying away.
