John Q (2002) ending / spoiler
Denzel wants to commit suicide in order to give his son a heart. He lays down on the operating table, pulls out his gun, and shoots but nothing happens because he put the lock on earlier. Then his wife tells him that they have a heart, and it ends up being from the girl who got in the crash at the beginning! John was convicted later to stay in jail for 2 years.
