Ransom ending / spoiler
The kid lives, the kidnapper turns on his team to get the bounty money. When the kid is back home, the cop comes to collect. When the kid hears the cop's voice he wets himself in fear, therefore telling his dad that he was the kidnapper. Afterwards Mel Gibson and Gary Sinise fight and Sinise is killed.
